The Takaful operation sits on a firm foundation of Shari’ah guidelines that are advised, approved and monitored by a council of scholars.
The Shari’ah Council provides service, advice and consultation in accordance with Islamic principles to institutions and individuals of similar and different faiths who require authoritative stances on issues regarding Insurance, specifically to review the operations of the company to ensure conformity with the principles of Shari’ah.

Moulavi M M A Mubarak – Chairman
A highly respected scholar he is the senior Vice President of the All Ceylon Jamiyyathul Ulema. He holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Islamic Shari’ah Law from the University of Madina Al Munawwara, Saudi Arabia. He is the principal of Ghafooria Arabic College, Maharagama. One of the pioneering scholars in the field of Islamic Banking and Finance and a member of Shari’ah Advisory Council for a number of Islamic Financial Institutions in Sri Lanka.
Mufti M I M Rizvi
He is the President of the All Ceylon Jamiyyathul Ulema who is highly respected for his scholarly advice. He is a Graduate from the University of Jamiha Uloom Islamiyah, Karachi in Pakistan where he qualified in Ifta. One of the pioneering scholars in the field of Islamic Banking and Finance he is a member of Shari’ah Advisory Council for a number of Islamic Financial Institutions in Sri Lanka.
Moulavi M. Fazil Farook
A qualified scholar in Islamic Banking and Finance having completed a course at the Islamic University of Malaysia. He has graduated in Dhawrathul Hadees and Alif Fadhil from Darul Uloom Islamiyah, South Africa and Hafeez-ul-Quran from Darul Uloom Hashimeeya, Sri Lanka. He is also a member of the Banking and Advisory Committee of the All Ceylon Jamiyyathul Ulema and a member of Shari’ah Advisory Council for a number of Islamic Financial Institutions in Sri Lanka.
Moulavi M Murshid Mulaffar - Secretary
A qualified scholar in Islamic Banking and Finance, having a Diploma in Islamic Finance from the Centre for Economics in Karachi, Pakistan. He is a graduate from the Al-Ali at Darul Uloom Al-Humidiya. He is a member of the Banking Advisory Committee of the All Ceylon Jamiyyathul Ulema and also a member of Shari’ah Advisory Council for a number of Islamic Financial Institutions in Sri Lanka.
